Some thoughts on some verses in Isaiah from recent message at church.

KJV   Isaiah 40:

The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

It has been claimed by Biblical Scholars that Isaiah is a Prophetic book of the Bible, with 66 chapters.  Chapters 1-39 parallels with OT books, and Chapter 40 starts the parallel with NT books.

Therefore, Chapter 40 parallels with Matthew.
Isaiah 40:3  "Prepare ye the way of the LORD" parallels with John with ministry of John the Baptist's ministry
Isaiah 40:5  "And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed"
Isaiah 43:1  But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
          1)  LORD created you/me
          2)  LORD formed us
          3)  LORD called us by name
          4)  LORD redeemed us.
It was ALL God's work, for us, in us and through us as it turns out.

Isaiah 41:3-5,21  For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
21 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

v.3 I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour  - our Saviour      v.4 precious in my sight, -   precious unto Him
v.5  Fear not: for I am with thee:   -   Cared for by Him
v.21  I formed for myself;  -  formed for Christ
they shall shew forth my praise.  - our purpose in being created by Him.

So much more.  These are just the very basic lessons for my life
