One of the things I’ve battled with is a desire to escape life! I always thought I was more of the survivor type person but have come to see I don’t WANT to battle. I don’t like this in me but it’s one of the things I have to do spiritual warfare over. This has grown up - this weed - as health issues (mild in a truth) have assailed me, and I’ve found out I don’t enjoy the day to day of being with a mom who is regressing to a untrainable child, and no longer able to converse or participate in conversation. My mom, one of my cherished friends, no longer able to even finish a sentence and respond with her warm loving care to me. And my flesh and soul screams - I want out. I don’t want THIS!

When these thoughts begin to torment me, I’ve found my only sanity has been in actively turning from the black hole seeking to devour me, in deliberate and active praise and thanksgiving to my only hope of life, the LORD Jesus Christ.

This is a very strong Psalm and covers the universe giving praise.
Psalm 148:    (ESV)
1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights!
2 Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts!
3 Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars!
4 Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens!
5 Let them praise the name of the Lord! For he commanded and they were created.
6 And he established them forever and ever; he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away
7 Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps,
8 fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word!
9 Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars!
10 Beasts and all livestock, creeping things and flying birds!
11 Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth!
12 Young men and maidens together, old men and children!
13 Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above earth and heaven.
14 He has raised up a horn for his people, praise for all his saints, for the people of Israel who are near to him. Praise the Lord!

In this Psalm there is nothing left out that should praise our LORD - even things we never imagined were  act worshiping, the sun and moon, stars, fire, hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word - and last in the list, men, women and children. He has no place in His plan and purpose for my life for despair and longing to be in
any other place but in the center of His plan and purpose - not just in the big things, but in the every day, nitty gritty of the life he has given us.

Moreover, He walks with us in it.  And I find as I give  thanksgiving and  recount all I have to praise Him for my spirit soars in joy and is released from Satan's lies.
